Call for Artists - Applications Open

The Village Canoe is pleased to open its paddles to the public for an open call to artists to join us for a 9-day residency on the Maine coast later this year.

The dates for the residence: August 24 - September 1, 2019 in the Midcoast. We plan to launch along the Penobscot River, and finish our journey in Brooklin, ME.

There will be a culminating exhibition of the work made on the weekend of September 27 - 29 in Belfast, ME. While it is encouraged that all artists try to attend the exhibition, we realize this is a lot to ask - especially of those traveling from out of state. Let us know what you’re thinking. We would love to have you even for the bulk of the exhibition programming on Saturday, September 28.
